Title I, Part A
Title I is a 100% federally funded supplemental education program that provides financial assistance to local educational agencies to improve educational opportunities for educationally deprived children. Title I programs are designed to help children meet the state content and performance standards in reading, language arts, and mathematics.

The best thing parents can do to support a child's academic achievement is get involved in the school community and to understand the various Rights to Know.
Parent and Family Engagement
The Wilkes-Barre Area School District recognizes that partnership between families and schools are a strong foundation for educational success. Each school, in collaboration with parents, writes its own Family Involvement Policy and School/Parent Compact

For more information, visit the Parent and Family Engagement Policy page.

Right to Know
Parents have a right to know the extent of their child's progress. This can be achieved by parent-teacher meetings and active involvement through homework assignments as well as encouraging reading and conversation with their child.
