Dr. David W. Kistler Elementary School faculty and staff continued  their commitment to build and maintain a positive relationship with their students, families, and community during the Holiday Season.

This year members of the Kistler Cares committee sponsored three main events to give back to the community. The Events included donations to Valley Santa, Toys For Tots,  and the St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen.
The Kistler Elementary family partnered with various community leaders and businesses to raise $1600 for the Valley Santa program. In addition to the donations, numerous faculty, staff, and administrators volunteered their time by reading letters, shopping for gifts, and wrapping hundreds of packages which will help to brighten the holiday season for deserving children throughout the valley.
Through the “Colors for a Cause” event held at the school on Friday, November 14, 2014, the faculty, staff, and administration collected money to make a donation to the St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen. The $300.00 donation was presented to Msgr. Joseph P. Kelly which will help to serve the community. Along with the monetary contribution, many Kistler Faculty and Staff worked numerous hours at the kitchen to help serve the needy.

Kistler Elementary is holding its first annual “Ugly Christmas Sweater” Day on Friday, December 19th. Each member of the faculty, staff, and administration participating in the event will donate an unwrapped toy to benefit the mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program.  This idea has spread to many other schools in our district and will be held on various days.
