Johnny Appleseed Tells His Story

On September 26, 2014 students at Kistler Elementary School celebrated the birthday of an American pioneer nurseryman who introduced apple trees to a greater part of Pennsylvania, Johnny Appleseed.  Principal, Ms. Serafini, dressed and played the part of Johnny Appleseed as she read his story to the students.  This interactive visit allowed the students to become familiar with this American legend while teaching the students about the  importance of apple trees to the state of Pennsylvania. Students were offered a sample of different varieties of apples, taste tested each type, voted on their favorite apple, and graphed their results.
