King's College Hosts Wilkes-Barre Area Students in a True College Math Experience

King's Trip

King's College recently hosted Mackin and Meyers High School students in a day meant to give them a taste of what math is like on the college level. Students began the trip with a tour of the campus compliments of the Admissions Department. They moved on to participate in two math sessions with a complimentary lunch in between. In the math sessions King's College Professors engaged students in hands on math involving real life applications. The famous Konigsberg Bridge problem and finding areas of irregular figures were two topics addressed during the presentation. Students walked away with a new perspective on math and it's applications. Teachers involved in the trip were Jenifer Kemmerer, Mackin, Sam Elias and Keith Eberts, MHS. Professor Dan Ghezzi, Math Professor, spearheaded this King's College Program.
