WEBS Program at Wilkes University
Dr. Kistler Elementary School participated in the Women Empowered By Science (WEBS) program at Wilkes University. WEBS is designed for sixth grade girls who show an interest in science, have the potential for a career in the sciences, and wish to further develop that interest at the middle school level. The students worked at the Stark Learning Center on the Wilkes campus. During labs from January through April students had the opportunity to conduct several experiments in various scientific fields, interacted with faculty, staff, and students at Wilkes, and became familiar with academic life on a college campus. Students were supervised at this after school activity by Mr. McHenry, gifted support science teacher.
