6th Grade Trip Fun

6th Grade

The Solomon-Plains Elementary 6th grade recently went on their annual 6th grade trip.  For eight years, they have been going to the Franklin Institute and the Camden Aquarium.  We continued this tradition again this year.  At the Franklin Institute, students got to see the giant heart, make paper, and even ride the sky bike.  At the aquarium, students got to pet sharks and stingrays and see the hippos.  A second part of our yearly tradition is to dye our trip shirts with refined iron oxide.  The iron oxide is collected from abandoned mine drainage.  We continue to utilize the techniques we learned from a grant that we received 8 years ago in connection with EPCAMR.
