Homecoming Court Announced!

The votes are counted and the 2017 Homecoming Court is officially announced.    Megan is the daughter of Heather and Michael Grebeck.  She is a four year member of the drama club, a former member of the golf team and the F.B.L.A. and is a current member of the Key Club.  She is the recipient of the Diocese of Scranton's Bishop's Youth Award and has received honor roll status.  Megan plans on pursuing a business degree at community college next year. 
   Casey, the daughter of Nadine and Eli Salinas, is a member of the National Honor Society, a four year member of the Coughlin Girls' Soccer team, earning a varsity letter and has achieved high honors. She is also a member of her  church's youth group.  Casey plans to major in early childhood education. 
   Kiara is the daughter of Christine Thomas.  She has achieved high honors and has been a cheerleader for thirteen years, cheering for Coughlin in grades 10 through 12 and serving as a junior advisor for the Wilkes-Barre Bears.  She is also a member of Coughlin's Key Club. Kiara hopes to one day be famous. 
   Morgan is the daughter of Shianne Christilaw and the granddaughter of Sharon Derhammer.  She serves as an advisor for Junior Leadership Wilkes-Barre, president of the Key Club and a member of the National Honor Society.  Morgan has been a member of Key Club, the German Club, the Future Business Leaders of America and a staff member on Coughlin's school newspaper, the Journal for the past four years.  She is also a member of the Go Green Club, the Breidlin Yearbook as well as Junior Leadership Wilkes-Barre. Morgan plans on studying at University of Colorado, Boulder next year. 
   Pilar would like to study speech language pathology and early childhood education.  She is the daughter of Maria and Felix Cantoran and is a three year captain of the volleyball team.  She is also a member the Spanish Club, the Diversity Club, and a past member of the Lacrosse team.  Pilar has achieved high honors since freshman year and is a member of the National Honor Society. 
   Tyler is the son of Sashca Bonadie and Reed Bonadie.  He is a member of the Upward Bound Class of 2018 has played volleyball for the last three years and attained high honors.  Tyler would like to ultimately become a cardiologist. 
    The son of Maureen and Eric Sovan, Eric has played football the past six years.  He plans to attend college next year. 
   Kishan is a member of the National Honor Society, achieving highest honors and lettering in soccer and track and field.  He is the son of Chandrika and Harshad Patel.  He is a four year member of the Track and Field Team, the Key Club, the F.B.L.A, and the Math Club.  Kishan is also member of Coughlin's soccer team.  He plans on attending college to major in computer science and minor in informational technology. 
    Hunter plans to attend film school to study directing and screenwriting.  He is the son of Lisa and Steven Jones.  He was named senior class President and as a junior served as junior class secretary.  Hunter is also a four year member of the student council, and was elected the vice president for the organization this year. He is a member of the National Honor Society, an F.B.L.A. state leadership qualifier, and lettered in track and field.  Hunter is a member of the drama club, the diversity club, the F.B.L.A. as well as the track and cross country teams. 
   Erik is the son of Lynn and Dave Javick.  He is a member of the National Honor Society and a letter winner on the boys' volleyball team. He is also a member of the German Club and a former member of the boys' basketball team.   He plans to study history at Wilkes University.     

To find out who will be crowned king and queen, you will have to come to the homecoming game on Friday, September 22.  The king and queen will be crowned prior to the 7 p.m. game on Friday, at Wilkes-Barre Memorial Stadium. The Coughlin Crusaders will face the Honesdale Hornets at the Friday night showdown. The Homecoming game will once again be a “Pink Out.” The Coughlin Key Club sold pink out t-shirts commemorating the event. Proceeds from the shirt sale as well as a basket raffle which will be held during the homecoming game will be benefit Candy’s Place, Candy's Place is a cancer wellness and resource center that offers support to cancer patients and their loved ones in a loving, safe, and home-like environment.
