Students Learn about DNA in a Yummy Way

8th and 9th grade students combined to learn about the DNA Helix.  Students learned that every cell in the body has DNA in its nucleus.  This DNA copies itself during mitosis in the interphase, but what does a DNA Helix look like up close?  These students learned by using Twizzlers, sour gummy bears and toothpicks...YUMMMM!
