Solomon Students Learn About Epilepsy
First Aid for EpilepsyMrs. Mary Loughlin from the Epilepsy Foundation came to Solomon-Plains Elementary to inform the students about epilepsy.  She spoke about the different types of seizures, and the first aid steps to follow if someone has a seizure.  A seizure is a sudden rush of electrical activity in the brain.  One in twenty-six people will have a seizure in their lifetime.  This neurological disorder can affect anyone.  Mrs. Loughlin’s son, Michael, was twenty years old when he had his first seizure.  The students enjoyed learning how the brain works.
