Dear Parent/Guardian:

We welcome you and your child to a new school year at Boyd Dodson Elementary School. We look forward to working with you and your child/children. Please know that our doors are always open to any of your questions and/or concerns and encourage you to contact us. Each month, a school wide calendar of events will be sent home with pertinent dates for you and/or your child. Daily communication with your child and our faculty is imperative to a successful school year, both academically and socially. We highly recommend checking your child’s backpack regularly and progress online through Skyward and on our website.

It is our intent to provide all students with a safe and pleasant environment conducive to learning. Our school’s doors will open daily at 8:20 and breakfast will be served from 8:20 to 8:45. Attendance and punctuality is crucial for your child to maintain the best possible education, thus we encourage that each child be in their homeroom by 8:45 to ensure that that there is no missed educational time. School will be dismissed each day at 3:15. Please be aware that parking is not permitted on Airy St. near the school. This should be used for pick and drop off only. On behalf of Dodson Elementary Faculty, Staff, and Administration, it is our hope that your adherence to all school and district policies will make this school year run as smoothly as possible.
