Wilkes-Barre Area School District

The Wilkes-Barre Area School District's Creative and Performing Arts Academy (CAPAA) is an audition-based program offering college and career preparation through immersion in an artistic community of peers, teachers and mentors. CAPAA students excel in an atmosphere in which everyone – through his or her passion for the arts – shares a common language.

The Wilkes-Barre Area STEM Academy is a science, technology, engineering and mathematics program that uses three-dimensional, hands-on educational experiences. This will lead to college and career readiness in the STEM professions. Our students work in a collaborative environment that emphasizes the importance of Family, Community, and Teamwork.

The mission of the Wilkes-Barre Area Business Academy is to provide students with an integrated program of academic subjects and competitive business practices, preparing them for post secondary education or entering the workforce with competitive business skills. This immersive program will include hands-on learning experiences focused on community engagement and building business relationships.
