Graduation Update!

WBASDLOGO

Wilkes-Barre Area Seniors

Our district is moving forward with a recorded graduation ceremony for each of the district’s high schools.  Seniors who have purchased a cap and gown and have met all of the district's graduation requirements will be called by their principal to schedule a time to be recorded.  Graduates will be expected to arrive at their respective buildings already dressed in their cap and gown.  They will be allowed to have two people accompany them.  All persons will be required to follow social distancing guidelines, including wearing a mask.

Graduates will be recorded walking across the graduation stage to receive their “diploma”.  Please keep in mind that these recordings will be completed before June 5th, so the “diploma” will be the cover and the diploma will be given at a later date.  After the student is recorded we will have a photographer available to take pictures of the graduate with their parent/guardian.  After photos are taken, you will be expected to leave the building so we can have the next graduate enter the building.

NOTE:   It is extremely important that graduates arrive on time for these recordings.  If you are late you may have to wait until everyone with scheduled appointments are finished, or return a different day.  We are working hard to make sure this ceremony is the best it can be for our seniors given the circumstances.
