Solomon Scholars Scoop Week of Nov 28th

Our Solomon Scholars wrapped up November with some incredible learning activities.   Fifth grade students studied the First Americans, their culture, customs, and traditions. The students expanded the lesson by researching and learned more about their own cultural and ethnic backgrounds, special traditions, and holidays.  Students in Mrs. Poplawski’s classroom had fun learning about short vowel sounds and CVC words during small group time. Fifth grader enjoyed watching a live science webinar. The webinar discussed chromatography- a way to separate components of a mixture by using the speed of its molecules to determine each component. Fourth grade worked with partners to use a wiffle ball and a stopwatch to investigate how the force used to move the ball affects the speed of the ball. Wow, what terrific week here at Solomon Elementary!
