May 2, 2023, Plains, PA:The Wilkes-Barre Area School District Business Academy and King’s College will offer opportunities for affiliation in academics. Business Academy students will have the opportunity to engage in educational experiences on the King’s College campus during the spring semester of their senior year. At that time, students will be granted admission to King’s College, William G. McGowan School of Business Young Scholars Program. Through the Young Scholars Program, students will have the opportunity to complete and earn seven college credits from King’s. Coursework will consist of MSB 100, Introduction to Business, MSB 120, Introduction to Management, and MSB 110, Introduction to Financial Accounting and Reporting. If a student chooses to not continue their collegiate career at King’s College, the credits will be transferable. It is with great pride that the Wilkes-Barre Area School District Board of Education and King’s College have agreed to this partnership. The partnership is intended to provide the framework for a continued and non-exhaustive relationship between the Wilkes-Barre Area Business Academy and King’s College. The Wilkes-Barre Area Business Academy is under the guidance of Mr. Hal Gabriel, Principal of Special Programs, and the instruction of Mr. Mike Day, Mr. Mitch Marcks, and Dr. Renee Pizzella.
