Fun N Food @ the Park Food-n- Fun @ the Park

Have fun, stay active, keep learning and enjoy yummy, FREE lunches and snacks all summer long. We will be “Serving up Summer” at these 7 locations throughout the city: 

  • Coal Street Park- Coal Street & North Sherman Street
  • Iron Triangle Playground- Corner of Hickory Street & Metcalf Street
  • Spruce Street Playground- On Spruce Street just after Blackman Street
  • Huber Park- Stanton Street and Huber Street
  • Parsons Park- On Scott Street just after Matson Avenue
  • Miner Park- South Wilkes-Barre on Old River Road
  • Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA 40 W. Northampton Street (*Note: Space at the Y is limited to 40 kids daily)

Monday through Friday, 10:00am-2:00pm.  Beginning Monday, June 25, 2018 & ending Friday August 17th, 2018.  Lunch served 11:30am-12:30pm, Snack served 1:30pm

Congress of Future Science & Technology Leaders Saul W. L. Woodworth attending The Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders
Congratulations to Saul. W. L. Woodworth, eigth grade student at Meyers High School. He was nominated and will be attending The Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders from June 28, 2018 through July 1, 2018 in Lowell, MA.  The Congress is an honors-only program for high school students from across the country  who want to enter science or technology fields.  
Joshua Woodworth Joshua Woodworth Selected as National Youth Delegate for Prestigious Conference at George Mason University
Joshua Woodworth, a student at Elmer L. Meyers Jr./Sr. High School, has been selected to represent Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania as a National Youth Delegate to the 2018 Washington Youth Summit on the Environment at George Mason University. 
MHS Outdoor Club Meyers students get lesson in river travel and sunburn
Sure, there was the bear cub that seemed to disappear into thin air, the snail they named Gary and the snake named Rizzo. There was the evening movie about peoples native to the river, the obligatory (and tasty) campfire s’mores and the realization most people make the first time they actually paddle the Susquehanna: It’s a lot cleaner than you thought.
