W-B YMCA to again offer free program
In an effort to combat child hunger and keep children active and engaged throughout the summer, the Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA will again offer its free Food and Fun at the Park program at six city parks and at the Y.

The program runs 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. Monday through Friday from June 24 to Aug. 16. Park programs are canceled if it is raining, and there will be no program July 4. Visit the Citizens' Voice for more information regarding this program.

wellness Making Sure Students Spring into a Healthy Summer
One school district in our area wants to help students stay healthy over the summer. The Wilkes-Barre Area School District held a Spring Fling into Wellness at Memorial Stadium.  The expo featured healthy food, a free cookout and prizes. Students also had a chance to dunk some of their teachers and administrators in Luzerne County. MHS History of Elmer L. Meyers High School remembered
As the doors begin to close on the reign of grand old Elmer L. Meyers High School, it is time we take a look back and remember the history of the place that has impacted so many for decades. It is hard to believe that a school opened in 1930 is still standing and very much still “Steadfast Forever” so many decades later.
