The Wilkes-Barre Area High School Business Academy students hosted "The Game of Life: Wolfpack Style" on May 27, 2026. In this simulation, eighth-grade students from Solomon and GAR Middle Schools stepped into the shoes of adults navigating various real-world scenarios. Each student received a unique profile detailing their career, education level, income, family size, and financial situation. As they visited different volunteer-staffed stations, they faced real-world challenges like housing, transportation, and unexpected expenses, learning firsthand how to manage their finances effectively.

PLAINS, PA  (April 10, 2026)— Jimena S. Flores-Garcia, a senior at Wilkes-Barre Area High School has achieved a significant milestone in student advocacy. After being selected for Senator Marty Flynn’s 2025 Student Ambassador Program, Flores-Garcia and her team emerged as winners of the program's legislative challenge. Their winning proposal, the Banked Use for Maternity Protection (BUMP) Act, will now be formally presented by Senator Flynn to his colleagues in the Pennsylvania State Senate for consideration.
