Theordore Brown Award

Theodore Brown Wins 2nd Place!

CAPAA Art student, Theodore Brown, recently competed and won 2nd place in the Congressional Art Competition sponsored by Congressman Matt Cartwright.  The contest is open to students in Luzerne, Lackawanna, Wayne, Pike and Monroe Counties.  Theodore was honored at an awards ceremony at the Everhart Museum in Scranton and his woodcut titled "Queen of Cats" will hand in Congressman Cartwright's office for the year.  Congratulations Theodore!

2022-2023 - School Year CAPAA-Application is OPEN!!

It is with great excitement for the 2022-2023 school year that The Wilkes-Barre Area School District Creative and Performing Arts Academy announce that as of March 14, 2022, the application process is open to all students, in current grades 8th thru 11th, interested in auditioning/interviewing for the Creative and Performing Arts Academy of the Wilkes-Barre Area School District in the following tracks: Art, Music: Choral/Vocal Performance, Music: Instrumental Performance, Theatre Arts.
