Welcome to our Federal Programs Department. This department administers federal programs and funding to the Wilkes-Barre Area School District’s nine schools as well as non-public schools in an amount exceeding $4 million per year. These funds provide vital support to our students District-wide. Grants help to provide supplemental academic programs, supplemental educational services, supplemental classroom supplies, after-school programs, professional development, and parent involvement activities.
The department also provides support and leadership for integrating federal funds into school reform efforts of teaching and learning and ensuring all children achieve.
Our goal is to provide all students, focusing on out most at-risk population, with the best educational opportunities available and to keep all stakeholders updated on the supplemental activities funded via our grant programs.
