Arianna Cruz, 12th grade CAPAA art student, received a national award from Scholastic Arts. Her piece, titled "Friday Kahlo Parody" was first selected for a regional gold key. It was displayed at the Everhart Museum in Scranton this March. The recognition allowed her to move on to the national competition where she won a silver medal. She is invited to attend the national award ceremony in New York City this June to receive her award.

For the second year in a row, one of the WBASD CAPAA art students has won the Fine Arts Fiesta Poster Contest! Amber Jones, a 12th grade student earned first place designing a poster to fit this year's theme "Fiesta Together". Her design was chosen over hundreds of entries from all over Luzerne County and will be used for all of the Fiesta media. Additionally, Genessys Cabrera, 9th grade CAPAA, took second place honors with Angelina Verdetto (12th), Tiffani Teeter (9th), and Geraldyne Lantigue-Rojas (12th) received Honorable Mentions.

The Wolfpack Players were recently honored at the Woodlands during The Times Leader's Best of the Best 2023 Readers Choice Awards. Readers were invited to nominate their favorites in more than 100 categories during the nomination phase. The top nominees advanced to the voting phase and The Wolfpack Players production of Oklahoma was selected by the readers of The Times Leader as the Silver Winner for the category of Theatrical Performance for their production of Oklahoma!

2022-2023 Transportation information is available in Skyward Family Access. Transportation information for the majority of students will be the same as last year however, we strongly encourage parents to log-in to the Skyward Family Access portal in case there was a change. In addition, parents of new students and students transitioning to a new school should log-in to check bus numbers, pick-up times, and locations. The link to the Skyward Family Access portal can be located by clicking on Family and Student Resources under Quick Links on the webpage. For additional questions regarding Skyward access and transportation please contact your child’s school. The transportation link will note the following information;if your child walks or rides a bus to school.the bus number.the bus stop location.The time of pick up and drop off. Students should be at the bus stop 10 minutes prior to their designated pick up time.
