Plains, PA – Three Business Academy students, Nick Lussi, Ashley Cannon, and Maykerline Vilgeant, have been making waves during their internships at Geisinger Wyoming Valley.During a recent visit by Dr. Pizzella, the students' supervisors were quick to praise their exceptional performance. Nick, a Pharmacy Intern, received high marks for his outstanding customer service skills and accuracy in completing register deposits. Ashley, a Nursing Intern, was commended for her ability to provide comfort and support not only to patients but also to their families. Maykerline, who is interning in the Nursing Department and also working part-time in Food Services, has been impressing her colleagues with her dedication and hard work."We are incredibly proud of these students and their accomplishments," said Dr. Pizzella "Their commitment to excellence is a testament to the quality education they are receiving at our academy."The students' internships at Geisinger provide valuable hands-on experience and help prepare them for future careers in the healthcare industry.

Avery Kosloski, a student in the Wilkes-Barre Area Business Academy, has been recognized for her outstanding essay by the Plains Township Rotary Club. Kosloski's essay, titled "Create Hope in the World: How can communities, schools, families, and/or friends support mental health with caring, giving, and compassion?" earned her the top prize in the club's recent essay contest.

Nicholas Lussi and Joseph Egidio, 11th grade students in the prestigious Wilkes-Barre Area Business Academy, an immersive program of academic subjects and competitive business practices, preparing students for post-secondary education or entering the workforce with competitive business skills through hands-on learning experiences focused on community engagement and building business relationships, were recently awarded the Pennsylvania Senate Good Citizen Award.
