W-B Scranton Penguins Visit 5th Graders

Ms. Giovannini and her fifth grade class were treated to a Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins Party.  The students had the opportunity to read books and earn a free hockey ticket to a game. The class was delighted to learn that they read the most books in the third grade to fifth grade category. Tux brought pizza and a few of the players to the classroom to celebrate.  The players talked about their love of the game and how important reading and education is for a successful journey through life.  Each child was presented with a Penguin's backpack as well as an opportunity to have it signed by the players.
