Information for all Learning Options and General Updates

September 11, Friday 2020- First Day of School Reminder:
The health and safety of the children in our community is our number one priority. We appreciate your support and help in pre screening your child every morning before they arrive at school.
9:15-9:45AM ARRIVAL
Option 1 Students will report to school between 9:15-9:45AM (wearing a mask/face shield and following safe social distancing)  
We now have Junior Wolfpack Paws located outside the building to make you aware of what is appropriate distancing.
Teachers will greet our students outside the building and get their temperature taken (digital thermometers) until our thermal scan arrives at school.
Students will then be directed to their appropriate homeroom area. Once all of the students arrive in each homeroom in their designated area outside the school, students will enter the building with their teachers.
There is NO breakfast on the first day
Teachers will review safety, school, and classrooms rules.
We ask you to be prompt for drop of times and practice social distancing on grounds.
All visitors to the school grounds must wear a face shield/mask. ‘Gators’ are not approved by the CDC at our school.
No one is permitted to enter the building without an appointment or building authorization.
Parents must prescreen their children for Covid-19 symptoms, including taking their temperature, daily before sending them to school. The school will also conduct temperature checks as students enter into the building each day. 
Face Shields/Masks are required to be worn throughout the school day by all students, faculty, and staff (removed for lunch only). 
Social distancing will be maintained throughout the school day.
Hand sanitizing stations are located throughout the building and in every classroom.
Students are encouraged to bring a water bottle to school each day as the water fountains will not be in use
Option 2 Students
Students are not required to log-in on day one. 
Please contact school if in need of a Chromebook  (Mr. Mendola, Principal)
Please check username and password (found on bottom of AUP received at distribution), review schedule for Google Classroom. 
Option 2 Students will be required to log-in LIVE for attendance and to participate starting on Monday, September 14th, 2020. 
Sign in times will be posted on Google Classroom by the classroom teacher. You will also receive notification from your child’s teacher if these times need to be adjusted.
Option 3 Students 
A staff member from our cyber team will be reaching out to families, please make sure you have a chrome book or electronic device top do your work.
DISMISSAL BEGINS AT 2:45 PM
WALKERS/CAR RIDERS WILL BE DISMISSED BETWEEN 2:45-3:00 PM DISMISSED BY GRADE LEVEL. 
Anyone picking up a student must wear a face mask/face shield and adhere to social distance requirements at all times while on school grounds. Everyone is reminded to quickly vacate the school grounds promptly to ensure that traffic flow and social distancing requirements as continuous.
BUS STUDENTS WILL BE DISMISSED BEGINNING AROUND 2:45-3PM
As each bus arrives an announcement will be made allowing those students to be dismissed.

STUDENT EXPECTATIONS
The Wilkes-Barre Area School District requires each student to attend daily scheduled class whether it be in person or virtually. Students will be required to maintain good hygiene and practice social distancing as well as maintain appropriate behaviors.
If a student does not follow procedures he or she will be removed from in person learning, or the virtual classroom. We require students to adhere to the dress code and the rest of the district policy
BUS STUDENT ARRIVAL TIME:   9:15 A.M. - 9:30 AM
As bus students arrive they will remain on the school bus. A teacher(s) will board the bus and give the students a card with their teacher name and section.
Exiting from buses into the school will be staggered upon arrival to ensure social distancing.
As students exit the bus they will have a temperature check. Once students are cleared with temperature check- they will be permitted to report to their new classrooms. 
If a student fails a prescreening the parent/guardian will be called to pick up the student (see COVID Safety Procedures)
All students/adults must be wearing a face mask/face shield and maintain social distancing during this time
WALKERS/CAR RIDERS STUDENT ARRIVAL TIME:  9:20-30 AM
As walker/car rider students arrive to the school teachers will direct students to their teachers and grade levels.(all staff outside will have a list of student placements you may check in with any staff member).
If a student fails a prescreening the parent/guardian will be called to pick up the student (see COVID Safety Procedures). 
All students/adults must be wearing a face mask/face shield and maintain social distancing during this time.
New Students:
All new students will report to the tent outside the main doors to meet with our staff members for further instructions. 
Parents/guardians will not be permitted to enter the school building (for any reason) with their children and will be required to wear a face mask/ face shield and adhere to all social distancing requirements while outside on school grounds. 
ATTENDANCE
Students will be required to attend daily scheduled classes. We will be following the districts attendance and truancy policies whether it be virtual or in person learning.
