My name is
Mrs. Hoban-Sedon. I am an English as a second language teacher at Meyers High
School. First, I want to let parents and guardians know that I want the best
for your children studying English as a second language.
I earned my bachelor's degree in journalism and minored in Spanish at the University of Scranton. As an undergraduate student, I was fortunate enough to study abroad in Guadalajara, Mexico, at UNIVA University. I was also chosen to participate in the Washington Semester Program through American University, Washington, DC. As a journalist I worked for the Times Leader in the arts and leisure department and also Stateline.org, Washington, DC.
I also earned my master's degree in elementary education from the University of Scranton, magna cum laude. I began my teaching career as a Spanish teacher and then had the opportunity to move into the ESL department. I LOVE to teach. I have taught everything from pre-school to college level courses. Currently I am a summer instructor for the Hispanic Outreach Program at King's College. I am also a member of Northeastern Pennsylvania Diversity Education Consortium.
I live with my husband, Chris who teaches math, our daughter, and our dog. I enjoy most sports, especially soccer and boxing. I am a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Yankees.
