HOW does WBA Instructional Coaching work?
In Wilkes-Barre Area, instructional coaching is an integral part of supporting teachers and enhancing student learning. Coaches are assigned to work directly with teachers in their classrooms each day, fostering a collaborative environment where they plan lessons together and implement strategies that align with the students' needs. Coaches actively participate in lessons alongside teachers, providing real-time feedback and support. One key tool in this process is the use of Exit Tickets, which are completed by students at the end of each lesson to assess their understanding of the day's objective. The data from these tickets is analyzed by teachers, coaches, and students to inform instruction, enabling them to focus on differentiating lessons, acknowledging student progress, and helping learners take ownership of their educational journey. This process cultivates a growth mindset, empowering students to continuously improve and reach their full potential.
