Wilkes-Barre Area High School Business Academy Student Awarded Pennsylvania Senate Good Citizen Award

Student with Principals

Gian Tavarez, 11th grade student in the prestigious Wilkes-Barre Area Business Academy, an immersive program of academic subjects and competitive business practices, preparing students for post-secondary education or entering the workforce with competitive business skills through hands-on learning experiences focused on community engagement and building business relationships, was recently awarded the Pennsylvania Senate Good Citizen Award.
 
Gian was nominated for this esteemed award based on their concern for community and commitment to ideals essential to the preservation of American Society. Having demonstrated qualities of good citizenship through display of character, leadership, scholarship, and acceptance of responsibility, Gian was recognized as an exemplary citizen with a certificate of conduct from Senator David G. Argall.
 
The Wilkes-Barre Area Business Academy is under the guidance of Mr. Hal Gabriel, Principal of Special Programs and the tutelage of Mr. Geoff Bell, Mr. Mike Day, Mr. Mitch Marcks and Dr. Renee Pizzella-Koulik. Eleventh grade students are under the administration of Mrs. Colleen Robatin, Principal.
