The Wilkes-Barre Area High School Business Academy students demonstrated their entrepreneurial spirit at the highly competitive 2025 Bloomsburg University Husky Dog Pound competition held on Thursday, March 26th, 2025. Facing over 200 competing teams, the Business Academy proudly fielded four teams, with one team achieving significant recognition.
The team "Quick Alert," composed of students Mya Fortune, Sincere Muniz, Lilyana Uzialko and Joselyn Ramirez, showcased their innovative ideas and strong presentation skills, ultimately placing 13th in the rigorous competition. This impressive achievement highlights the dedication and hard work of these students and the quality of education provided by the Wilkes-Barre Area High School Business Academy.
The Husky Dog Pound competition, known for attracting talented young entrepreneurs from across the region, provides a platform for students to develop and present their business concepts to a panel of judges. The competition fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills – all essential for future success in the business world.

The Wilkes-Barre Area Business Academy is under the guidance of Mr. Hal Gabriel, Principal of Special Programs and the instruction of Mr. Geoff Bell, Mr. Michael Day, Mr. Mitch Marcks and Dr. Renee Pizzella-Koulik. Tenth grade students are under the administration of Mr. Christopher Anthony, Assistant Principal.
