WBASD Creative and Performing Arts Academy Mission Statement

The Wilkes-Barre Area School District's Creative and Performing Arts Academy (CAPAA) is an audition-based program offering college and career preparation through immersion in an artistic community of peers, teachers and mentors.  CAPAA students excel in an atmosphere in which everyone – through his or her passion for the arts – shares a common language.

Students will take core curriculum at their currently enrolled school in the morning and will attend The Creative and Performing Arts Academy for the afternoon in their preferred arts discipline.

The Wilkes-Barre Area School District does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or age in its programs and activities and provides equal access to the Boy Scouts and other designated youth groups.

The following person has been designated to handle inquiries regarding the non-discrimination policies: The Wilkes-Barre Area School District Superintendent, 730 South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18711-0375, 570-826-7111.
