Faculty and student yoga sessions, under the direction of psychology teacher, Mrs. Darlene Reilly, have been offered at the Wilkes-Barre Area High School for the past two year. Earlier this year, Congressman Cartwright announced grant money being provided to local YMCA's for the Wellbeing Initiative. The aim of this program is to promote overall wellness and teach healthy coping mechanisms to all ages. A YMCA representative reached out to Mrs. Reilly hoping to extent services to school districts. This fit perfectly with the program already in place. The funding allows for two after school yoga sessions each week.
