Student Arrival and Departure Procedures

Morning Arrival:
Students may enter the building at 7:20. At this time all students are required to place all cell phones and metal objects in their clear backpack and proceed through the security checkpoint. Please take one last look to be sure all metal has been removed and placed in a bag where the security staff may view your belongings.

There are two entry points to the building. Students may enter through the main entrance or the breakfast line which is at the Gym Lobby Entrance. The breakfast line runs from 7:20-7:40. At 7:40, all students must enter through the main entrance. No adults may enter through the gym lobby at any point throughout the school day.

Students should be in line by 7:45 to avoid being marked as late.

All students should have their school issued Identification easily visible for staff upon arrival.

Afternoon Departure:
Each day an announcement will be made to announce any potential bus changes that may occur. The first announcement for dismissal is for van riders,  followed by each floor of bus riders starting with students in their 9th period class working their way down to the 1st floor. Students must leave at their designated announcement time, and proceed to their bus on Sherman Street. The buses leave promptly at 2:08.

At that time, walkers are dismissed from school. Many students may remain in the building for 10th period for a variety of reasons. These reasons may include remediation time with a classroom teacher, club time, or a scheduled detention. Detention may be defined as teacher detention which is in a teachers classroom,  or central detention. Students are to remain in detention until 2:40, at which time they are dismissed to either walk home or wait for the 10th period bus. All students who ride the 10th period bus should request a 10th period bus pass so they may take the 10th period bus to a list of scheduled stops. These stops are not their regular stops, but stops within the general neighborhood for which they live.

Unless a student is in a scheduled class for remediation or detention, they should not be in the building 10th period. Administrators, teachers, and other staff may require the student to leave the building and discipline may occur if the student does not exit the building as scheduled.

Students are required to leave the property and may not re-enter without permission from an administrator. Students who do not exit the property may receive disciplinary action.

Parents or Guardians who are dropping off or picking up a student must park off property on a street. There are no visitor parking spaces available on property.
